An initiative by the Community Council to help keep our village litter free has resulted in us receiving 10 litter picking grips, an abundance of bags and gloves along with a few hi-vis jackets, absolutely free.
The litter pick is being co-ordinated by John Evans and will be a monthly event on the first Saturday of each month, commencing on Saturday 5th May. The frequency might change to a bi-monthly event in the fullness of time.
Initial target areas will be up Sandy Lane, the hedges on the main road from the Garage to the Church, and the area around the Community Centre but suggestions for other areas are welcome.
Ideally we are looking for eight volunteers, two have already come forward, so we can have four teams of two tackling each area. If you can spare an hour between 10.00 and 11.00 am on Saturday 5th May please email johnnevans25@talktalk.net or call him on 07771 803648.
The meeting point will be at the park in Badgers Brook Drive.
